Although widely known as a fine player and builder of the Irish pipes, it's a little known fact that Kirk is a talented and versatile guitarist with 40 years of experience at the instrument in a wide variety of idioms from blues and jazz to ambient, rock and acoustic instrumentals. Blues for Tommy, Ambient 1, 2, and 3, Smoke and Gin, Open Road, Anthem, and Swing blues were recorded on a Tascam 8 track analog machine, while the rest were recorded live to 2 tracks on a PC with the aid of a Digitech Jamman looper and a couple of Roland guitar synths.
